Some of the links on this site earn me a commission. Here is exactly how that works, and what it does and does not change.
The short version
When I recommend a product in the Shop or in a Journal entry, the link often goes through an affiliate program. If you buy something after clicking it, I may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as if you had gone to the retailer directly.
Amazon Associates
Sunlit Studio is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Other programs
I also work with Mavely and with individual retailer programs. Where a link goes through one of those, the button on the page says so.
What the commission does not change
I only list pieces I would put in a room myself. A commission does not buy a place on this site, and no brand has ever paid me to include something.
If a product is here, it is because it works — the proportion is right, the material holds up, or it does a job in the room that nothing else was doing. If two pieces do the same job, only one of them appears, regardless of which one pays more.
A commission is how the writing gets paid for. It is not why the piece is on the list.
Where you will see this
A short disclosure appears at the top of every page that carries an affiliate link, above the products rather than buried at the bottom. You should never have to go looking for it.
Prices and availability
I do not publish prices. They change, they vary by retailer, and a stale number is a promise I cannot keep. Check the retailer for the current price and whether something is in stock.
About the images
The interiors on this site are Sunlit Studio design concepts, not photographs of houses I have built. Where a room is a concept, it is labeled as one. Where a photograph is a real project, that will be labeled too. I have written about why I work this way.
